Minutes to Decimal Hours Converter

Payroll runs on decimal hours, not hours and minutes. Convert any time below, or use the chart.

Decimal hours 8.50

How the conversion works

To convert minutes to decimal hours, divide the minutes by 60 and add the whole hours. For example, 30 minutes is 30 ÷ 60 = 0.50, so 8 hours 30 minutes = 8.50. To go the other way, multiply the decimal portion by 60: 8.75 hours = 0 hours 45 minutes (0.75 × 60 = 45).
