Make staff clock in only at the time clock

Anyone with a Kloqk login can clock in, clock out and take breaks from their own phone or computer. That's on by default. If you want people to punch only at the shared time clock with their PIN, turn it off for their location. They can still sign in on their phone to see their schedule, their hours and to ask for time off.

Turn it off for a location

1. Go to Settings > Time clock.
2. Find Clocking in from their own phone or computer. There's one line for each location.
3. Untick the location. It saves straight away.

Everyone whose home location is that one now has to use the time clock there. On their phone, the Clock tab says Clock in at the time clock at and the name of your location, instead of showing punch buttons.

Make an exception for one person

1. Go to Employees and open the person.
2. Under Clock in from their own phone or computer, choose Always allow or Never allow.

Choose Follow and the location's name to go back to the location's setting. Example: the shop is tablet-only, but your delivery driver can still punch from their phone.

Who can change it

Owners and admins can. Managers can too if you allow it in Settings > Team > Permissions (the row Turn clocking in from their own phone or computer on or off). The What employees can do from their own login table on that page shows how it's set and links back here.

What stays the same

• Staff can still sign in to see their schedule, their hours, their time off and the office calendar, and to ask for time off.
• Punches already made are not changed.
• Managers can still punch someone in from the dashboard or with manager mode on the clock.
• The How your team clocks in choice (Office, Field or both) only changes the guidance on your dashboard. This setting is the one that actually turns phone punching off.
