Overtime
Normal hours are 44 a week (2,288 a year) in non-agricultural work. Overtime pays 25% extra between 6 am and 9 pm and 50% extra between 9 pm and 6 am.

Overtime in Morocco
- 1.25x pay for hours past 44 in a week.
- Overtime between 9 pm and 6 am pays +50%. On the weekly rest day the premiums rise to +50% (day) and +100% (night), even if compensatory rest is given (Art. 201).
- Where the 2,288 hours are spread unevenly over the year, hours from the 10th hour of the day, and from the 2,289th hour of the year, are overtime (Art. 199).
- Agriculture: 2,496 hours a year; overtime +25% from 5 am to 8 pm, +50% from 8 pm to 5 am.
- Overtime pay is calculated on salary plus allowances, excluding family allowances, tips and expense reimbursements (Art. 202).
- Overtime is allowed for work of national interest or exceptional workload, under conditions set by decree (Art. 196).
Averaging over a pay period: Allowed: annual hours may be spread over the year by business need, max 10 normal hours a day (Arts. 184-185).

Breaks and lunch in Morocco
The law does not set a break of a fixed length for adult employees here.
- Shift teams work max 8 hours a day, continuous except one rest break of no more than 1 hour (Art. 188).
- Weekly rest of at least 24 hours, midnight to midnight (Art. 205).
