Copy a week into this one
Bring any week that has a schedule into the week on screen, and choose whether to replace what is there or fill only the empty days.
Open the week you want to fill, pick a week from Copy from a week…, and confirm. If the week on screen already has shifts, Kloqk tells you how many before anything changes.
Copy a week
- In the sidebar, click Schedule and move to the week you want to fill (the week that receives the copy).
- In the bar above the grid, open Copy from a week…. It lists weeks that have a schedule, nearest first, with the dates and the number of shifts.
- Choose a week. The Copy a week into this one window opens and says which week goes into which, with the number of shifts and people.
- If the week on screen is empty, click Copy into this week.
When the week on screen already has shifts
The window shows a warning such as This week already has 12 shifts on it, and three buttons:
- Replace this week's schedule: every shift in this week is removed, for everybody, and the week you chose is put in its place.
- Keep what is here and fill the empty days: shifts already on the week stay, and only days with nothing on them are filled from the other week.
- Cancel: nothing changes. The cursor starts on Cancel, so pressing Enter by accident does not remove a schedule.
After copying, messages say how many shifts were copied, how many were replaced and how many days were left as they were.
What is copied
- Each shift's times, lunch and the saved shift it came from.
- Days the business is marked closed in the week on screen stay empty.
- People who have left are not scheduled.
Good to know
- Copying acts on the whole week for the whole business. The count in the warning is the whole week's, whichever location tab is showing.
- You can copy from a later week into an earlier one too. The list includes both.
- To repeat one week into many weeks ahead in one step, use Fill forward instead.
- If you replaced a week by mistake, there is no undo button. Copy the original week back if it still exists elsewhere, or rebuild it. A schedule you uploaded as a file can be downloaded again from Upload history.
Questions people ask
Which weeks can I copy from?
Any week that has at least one shift. The dropdown lists them nearest first, earlier and later weeks both.
Will copying delete the shifts I already have this week?
Only if you click Replace this week's schedule. Keep what is here and fill the empty days leaves every existing shift alone.
Does it copy only the location I'm looking at?
No. It copies the whole week for the whole business, and the warning counts every shift in the week.
