Hide names on the time clock

Normally the time clock shows everyone's name, who is clocked in and for how long. Turn on Show only the PIN pad on the time clock and the screen shows just the keypad.

Turn it on

1. Go to Settings > Time clock.
2. Under Hide names on the time clock, tick Show only the PIN pad on the time clock.

What changes on the clock

• No names, cards, table or count of who is in.
• Birthdays are left off the clock's calendar too.
• After someone types their PIN, they still see their own name, their status and their hours, as usual.

Punching someone else in

A manager can still punch a person in or out. They tap Manager at the top of the clock and type their own PIN. The list of names appears until manager mode ends, then the clock goes back to the PIN pad. See Manager mode on the time clock.

First time here? Set up your PIN still works. It lists only people who have no PIN yet, so somebody new can pick their name and choose four digits. If you would rather nobody's name appears at all, set PINs yourself on the Set PINs page, or use Let them choose a new PIN on a person's page to give them a one-time code. See Set up PINs.

Shorter names instead of hidden ones

If the problem is long names that do not fit, you may not need to hide them. Give a person a Nickname for the time clock (optional) on their employee record and tick Show this on the time clock. Timesheets, reports and payroll keep their full name.

Good to know

• This setting is free on every plan.
• Your dashboard's Time Clock page still shows who is in at each location.
• To show names again, untick the box.
