Reports overview
Find the right report, pick a date range and location, and download hours and pay as a spreadsheet, PDF or payroll file.
Click Reports in the sidebar. Pick a Period (and a Location if you have more than one), then click the report you need. The dates and location stay the same as you switch between reports.
Pick the dates and location
- In the sidebar, click Reports. It opens on the Summary report for your last completed pay period.
- Open Period to choose a range. It is grouped into Pay periods, Days and weeks, Months, Quarters and Years.
- Or type exact dates in From and To. The Period box then reads Custom dates.
- If your business has more than one place, open Location and choose All locations, one site, or a job site, which is listed with (Field) after its name.
The reports
| Report | Answers |
|---|---|
| Summary | Hours per person: worked, break, lunch, regular and overtime. |
| Detailed | Every punch, day by day. See the Detailed report. |
| Payroll | Cost and taxes, scheduled against actual. See the Payroll report. |
| By location | Hours and cost per site, by where the punches happened. See reports by location. |
| Adjustments | Every changed punch, who changed it, and requests to fix a punch. |
| Scheduled vs actual | Where the money went against the schedule. See scheduled vs actual. |
Download or print
Each report has its downloads at the top right:
- Spreadsheet: a CSV.
- PDF: a file ready to print or email.
- Fields: on Summary, Detailed and Payroll, choose extra employee details to show, such as employee number or department.
- On Payroll, a button for your payroll provider's file.
Every download holds what the screen shows: the same dates and the same location. See report PDFs and fields.
Good to know
- The dates and location are in the page address, so you can bookmark a report or send the link to someone on your account.
- Free shows the last 90 days. Older records are kept, and a note on the report says where the view starts. Pro ($29 per location per month) shows full history.
- Payroll, By location and Scheduled vs actual show money, so they need permission to see pay.
- Choosing a site shows the people whose home location is that site. A job site shows the people assigned to it.
- Hours on every report come from one calculation, the same one behind timesheets and exports.
Questions people ask
Why does the report open on last pay period, not this one?
The last completed period is the one payroll runs on. The current period is still changing. Pick Current pay period from the Period dropdown to see it.
I don't see a Location dropdown.
It appears once your business has more than one place to choose from, such as a second site (part of Pro) or a job site.
Can I see reports older than 90 days?
On Free, reports show the last 90 days. Nothing older is deleted, and Pro shows all of it.
Do people who left still show up?
Yes, for any range where they worked or had paid leave.
